New online crafty book group

I have so many things to blog at the moment but I am struggling to muster up the energy, I went to the doctors again on Friday as I had another bad vertigo attack last week, my mum ended up calling an ambulance, on the doctors advice, as there was no one available to come out to me. One of the paramedics mentioned something to do with hormones so I decided to ask my doctor about it. He has agreed to send me for a blood test but I really had to argue for it as he said it was a long shot and a waste of time. I have also been asking for a while now to see someone to talk too, (you are all amazing but I can't tell you everything, plus I would bore you to tears ;)) but he said that I shouldn't dwell on it, he also admitted that the counsellors are ill. I had to really fight it out but I think he is referring me. I say I think because he just said leave it too me.

Anyway, it has left me feeling like I have had a bit of a hollow victory, this year I have been trying to look on the positive side more, but this last visit has left me feeling tired and very drained.

I am going to tell you about a new book group I have joined and then I am going to have a week of from blogging. It is my Mums 60th next sat so we have a lot of preparing for that to do next week.

The book group I am talking about is Woollywotnots Sunday book group, she has a forum where we all go to discuss the books here. Each month you choose one book out of four (though this is flexible and if you want to suggest books you can)

For the month of July I am reading Kyoto! cute crochet and so far I am loving it. All the patterns are charts but there are instructions to back these up too.

I love all the patterns in this book and really want to try most of them.

At the beginning are photos of all the yummy things to make.

All of which are bright, inviting and inspiring.

If you are unsure about this kind of crochet it has two really easy to follow lessons, I have had a go at a doily and am surprised with how quickly I was able to pick it up and understand the charts. I shall have to show you next week though as I have yet too photograph it :)

So if you are a book person and enjoy chatting about different craft and business books then this group is for you. I look forward to seeing you there!

Oh, before I go I want to thank those who left such lovely comments on my last post, they really made me feel good. Thank you :)

Hi Hannah, i joined Katharine's book club, too! I'm going to read 1000 Artist Journal Pages, but the lacy crochet book looks good, too. I wish I was better at crocheting, but knitting seems to be more my thing. I hope you feel better soon, I will hold that in my thoughts for you.

Hey, Hannah...hope you feel better soon. Have you got a Women's Centre anywhere near you? It's sometimes possible to access counselling services that way and ime the waiting lists can be shorter than the NHS. Worth a try.

I like the look of that book, I'm quite tempted - I was just asked today if I could reproduce a friend's gran's beloved doily...good timing, cheers!

I'm hoping things might get better for you after your mum's birthday, because though I'm sure your mum is wonderful the idea of a huge party makes me feel ill. keep pushion to talk to a counseller and hopefully you will get through to someone. You have been doing well up until this set back, you have gone for walks and done the shopping, both of which are big things and you did them without any trouble, and I'm so proud of you for that. So keep going but relaz and read your book too!

Hi Hannah,a rest and a party sounds a good tonic! I hope you all enjoy a lovely time celebrating your Mum's 60th!
I really recommend the human givens approach. Everyone I know speaks so highly of it, saying it is the best counselling available. Here's the website. http://www.hgi.org.uk/
Thanks ever so much for blogging about woollywotnots craft book club. The book looks fantastic. I'm so inspired to learn crotchet! Can't wait to see what you make out of it. Take care, Katharine

Hi, Hannah! I'm sorry things are so difficult just now... And it sounds like you need another, different doctor all together, one who really listens to you and wants to help. Do keep trying for the care and counselling you need. :o) Love all the lacy, crochet goodness here--that book looks lovely. Wishing you stronger, happier days ((HUGS))

The book looks so good! I think I'll have to add that one to my wishlist...

Sorry to hear about your experience with the doc, it sounds very familiar and I really hope you do get something done. Enjoy your blog break and your Mum's b'day *hugs* xo

Hannah - after suffering similar{thankfully short term} symptoms back at easter i can totally sympathise with you and i know how hard it must be for you but you are such a strong woman - you need to keep working on your doctor, i don't understand why he isn't giving you more support, can you maybe see a different GP?
hope your Mum has a fantastic party x
